A pair of engraved maps with hand colored wash. Size: 11-1/2 inches X 15-3/4 inches Map Type: Atlas These are excellent copies with good colors. Light age spotting throughout and age darkened along the crease line. This pair of maps are decorative illustration of four globes representing both earth and sky. They have a distinctive decorative picture frame border. Taken from Atlas General, Civil et Ecclesiastique. French map making was at it's peak in the mid-eighteenth century, and Louis Brion de la Tour was one of France's most prolific cartographers.
