This is a superior copy, very clean with vivid color.

Colored by county and territories. Some topographic features are noted such as the "Staked Plain", and notes about vegetation and water availability.This map was originally published just prior to the Civil War, during a period of rapid development in the new state.

This map features an intricate and beautiful border that had become a signature of Mitchell County Maps under Mitchell, Jr.

Erath county is mistakenly identified as "Earth" county.
