This is a superior copy, very clean with vivid color.

This interesting map of the growing state was developed circa 1875 during a period of western expansion. Many topographical features are provided as well as locations of forts, water wells, and river crossings. It illustrates a growing number of railways in the southeastern part of the state connecting the important port of Galveston with Houston and Austin.

Numbered "15" (in the upper left). In 1873, J. David Williams issued the Jones and Hamilton People's Pictorial Atlas which included this map. Then in 1875, it appeared in the H.H Hardesty issue of the Jones and Hamilton Historical Atlas of the World Illustrated.
